Barbie released a series of Barbies featuring more authentic-looking facial features such as fuller lips, a wider nose, more distinctive cheek bones and curlier hair. So In Style™ (S.I.S™) was developed and inspired by Barbie® designer of 12 years, Stacey McBride-Irby, an African-American mother of two who wanted to create a line of dolls more reflective of her daughter and community.
The So In Style™ line features Grace™, Kara™ and Trichelle™ dolls, three best friends who are all about fashion, fun and friendship. Each of the dolls features its own unique personality and style and reflects one of three varying skin tones.
One of the Barbie collection that I noted and find: Byron Lars Ayako Jones™ Barbie® Doll epitomizes glamour, multiculturalism, and cutting edge couture. Wearing a sleek kimono−style top with beautiful floral detailing, cropped skinny jeans, and sky high heels, this girl knows how to work it. Geisha−inspired face paint and a dramatic ‘do complete the doll’s look.
Barbie has been celebrating their 50 years this year, they have been of people's consciousness for 5 decades, in good and bad times. Barbie keeps aside with boys toys racing cars if you have a brother. Mom can't live without a Barbie! I had a Barbie! What are your Barbie's memories?
